Besso Limited’s Damage Protection is a programme that protects property managers against guest-caused damages to the owned contents of your short stay rental property during contracted stays. It’s an alternative solution to security and refundable deposits. Damage Protection puts property managers in control by offering a full- API integration within your property management system. The protection is obtained via insurance solutions offered by Besso Limited, FCA reference # 309159.

How does it work?
The property manager provides guarantee terms (as prescribed by Besso Limited) to the property owner. Additionally, the property manager agrees in the rental contract with the guest to waive the security deposit requirement (security deposit waiver). A property manager can do this because the insurance delivered by Besso responds to guest-caused damages during contracted stays.
As a protected property manager, you are charged a flat fee per stay. This fee includes both insurance costs for the coverage delivered by licensed agent Besso Limited as well as technology fees that enable seamless API, online program administration, auto payment and access to the online claims submission wizard.
Whenever a guest reports damage or damage is discovered at check-out, you follow the simple claim process:

Submit a description of the damage, a picture of the damaged or ruined items and a receipt.
Complete claim submission, Managers and holiday have two weeks from the date of the event to complete the damage submission.
The program claims administrator processes the claim through the claims wizard.
A complete submission can typically be reviewed and resolved within one week.
The average turnaround for reimbursement from the day of submission out is 14 days.
Real time messaging including updates, follow up requests, and approval amounts are delivered directly to you via the RentalGuardian system.
You pay for the protection and program software fees periodically through the RentalGuardian platform.

The Damage Protection program is supported by an insurance policy delivered to and insuring the participating property manager. The policy is offered through Besso Limited, and effected with certain Lloyd’s Underwriters through TERN Financial Group Inc., a Lloyd’s Approved coverholder acting as agent for the Underwriters. The program is NOT intended to replace homeowners insurance, commercial general liability insurance, or umbrella insurance.
